The Chinese mining company Ebang, which controls 9.2% of the global market for mining of cryptocurrency, plans to produce at least 400,000 new devices this year.
According to the company's financial statement, Ebang sold about 159,000 equipment units in 2017 and approximately 309,000 units in the first half of last year. The total number of miners sold for the entire 2018 is unknown, but the company declares a significant decline in profits in the third quarter of last year.
These data are comparable to the indicators of other mining companies, which also felt the consequences of the "cryptocurid winter".
However, the recession of profitability did not significantly affect the business of the company, which this year plans to produce at least 400,000 new miners, which is two and a half times higher than the sales indicators of 2017 and probably comparable with the 2018 indicators.
Along with other major manufacturers of mining equipment, Ebang considers the option of conducting primary public offering (IPO). In December, the company has updated its application at the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, which also reported a significant decline in profits.
In addition to Ebang, the application for an IPO also filed a company CANAAN, which later decided to revise its plans and place shares in New York. Bitmain expects consideration of the application of the Hong Kong Stock Exchange since September last year.
