The Spanish telecommunications company Telefonica intends to test the blockchain-platform, which gives users the opportunity to sell their personal information.
This news was announced by WIBSON, which offers a decentralized data market, allowing individuals to sell "confirmed" personal information in order to produce profits.
According to WIBSON, Telefonica tested the platform to verify the authentication of consumer data. Initially, during testing, Telefonica Movistar subsidiary will be checked in Uruguay.
Such an inspection ensures that the data on the WIBSON market will be "always reliable, modern and high-quality," said the co-founder and CEO WIBSON Mat Travizano. Telefonica also acquired a share in Wibson last year through his Wayra investment unit along with Venture companies DGG Capital and Kenetic Capital.
Wibson launched its data market back in October, which made it possible to users from Argentina, Spain and Great Britain to use a mobile application and a company's own token (WIB) to earn money on selling their personal data. After confirming the transaction using a smart contract on the platform, users receive a payment in the application wallet.
